The Stirling String Quartet was formed in the summer of 2003 and is made up of professional musicians mainly based in Edinburgh. It has a diverse repertoire, from light classical music to ragtime, jazz, film music, popular songs and even Scottish and Irish traditional music. Most of the repertoire is well known and popular and requests for specific music can be made beforehand. The quartet often plays for weddings and can provide background music for drinks after the ceremony, music for the service itself, or music during the meal. Bookings are also taken for corporate events and private parties. Any event can benefit greatly from music provided by a String Quartet as it adds such a special atmosphere to an occasion.

We can suggest music for your event and if you have a request for a particular piece of music this can usually be arranged with advance notice. If a String Quartet is not quite suitable for the venue or the occasion, a String Trio or Piano Duo (violin and piano) can be provided as an alternative with the same entertaining mix of music.
